In ITS, the information owned by each system is mutually exchanged among the related systems. Then, the efficient data utilization is achieved in the entire ITS system.
Therefore, information is made available to the entire ITS system and operation efficiency is improved.
The Data Dictionary specifies the Data Elements (DE, the smallest unit of
data). It eliminates error in the interpretation of data exchanged among systems within ITS.
The purpose of the data dictionary is to guarantee the interoperability between different road administrators or between different systems of the same road administrator.
