Name
Research on a method for analyzing the transition of green spaces using medium-resolution satellite images
Overview
Focusing on medium-resolution satellite data, which is available on a nationwide scale, this study was conducted to develop and organize technical methods to efficiently and effectively grasp the transition of green spaces, while confirming the accuracy and workload of the methods. In particular, the research was conducted with the aim of developing techniques to improve the accuracy to a level where the transition of individual forested areas that have increased due to afforestation in urban areas can be reliably determined. As a result, it became possible to determine the increase and decrease of green spaces with an error of less than 30% on a nationwide basis through the use of precise geometric correction and the removal of shadows.
