Tree management and renewal

We are conducting research and studies on methods of maintaining roadside greenery to preserve and create a beautiful and favorable environment as well as to create a diverse community. We are developing maintenance and management techniques to deal with fallen roadside trees and uprooted trees, as well as diagnosis of roadside tree decay using gamma rays.

Parks and green space planning

We conduct research on the design of comprehensive satoyama conservation systems, technologies for formulating basic green plans to cope with declining populations and urban decay, and the prevention and reduction of health and life hazards caused by living organisms.

Environmental Assessment Mitigation

We provide technical support for environmental assessments related to the field of ecosystems and interaction with nature, and develop systems to predict in advance the impact of construction projects on rare birds of prey.

Ensuring Biodiversity

In addition to ecological network planning that takes into consideration the habitat of wildlife and the development of statistical models to predict the effects of environmental changes on the habitat of living organisms, we are also conducting research on greening techniques that utilize native species and methods for the control of specific alien species.

Global Warming Countermeasures

We are developing a formula for calculating the annual amount of CO2 fixed per tree by determining the amount of growth per urban green tree, as well as a method for estimating the amount of CO2 fixed by monitoring the amount of urban green space and its increase/decrease using satellite data.

Landscape Preservation and Formation

We conduct research on public works landscaping, including the systems and systems for creating good landscapes, the norms and targets to aim for, and the effects that can be achieved by creating landscapes.

Design and Management of Public Spaces

We conduct research on public space planning and design methods and management systems and procedures that are effective in expanding the functions of street spaces and improving the quality of town squares in urban areas.

Historic Town Planning

To support community development that makes the most of local history and culture, we conduct research on the preservation, utilization, and restoration of buildings and other structures that contribute to the formation of historic character, as well as on the maintenance of historic character in the event of a disaster.
