(3) Road geometry

Background of research

As social and economic conditions change and new technologies emerge, needs related to road space are diversifying. In addition to conducting research on road geometry to support the planning and design of safe, smooth, and comfortable roads, we are also conducting research paying close attention to changes in traffic characteristics (driving characteristics, walking characteristics, etc.) associated with the development of a super-aged society, improvements in vehicle performance, the spread of ultra-compact mobility, and other changes in conditions surrounding roads.
