　National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management is building the ITSplatform to promote the development of the SmartwaySystem.
　Here we introduce the Road Communication Standards (RCS) that are expected to play an important role in the ITS platform.

 　
　
　We hope that this report will prove to be useful for people in charge of planning and improving ITS systems, and as a reference to introduce RCS in their areas.
　Your comments and suggestions are most welcome as we continue our efforts to further develop the RCS.
