| Summary | We proposed efficient and economical survey methods of longshore sediment transport rates and a planning procedure of measures against coastal erosion based on actual littoral drift. In the procedure, a design longshore sediment transport rate is set to keep a necessary beach width, and is used to design shore protection measures such as beach nourishment, breakwaters, and groins. |
