Methodology for Urban Greenery Survey and Effect Evaluation

We are working to develop methodogy to survery conditions and trends of urban greenery, and spatial urban greenery structure, using up-to-date airborne laser (LiDAR) measurement technology, which developed rapidly in recent years. We are also working to develop methodogy to calculate quantative low-carbon effect of urban greenery through their improvement of urban thermal environment.

Development of Evaluation Method for Low-carbon Urban Planning by Urban Thermal Environmental Improvent, Utilizing Urban Greenery

Evaluation methods to estimate effect from urban greenery, by evapotranspiration and leafy shades, of urban thermal environmental improvement, and greenhouse gas emmission reduction by less use of cooling and heating by surronding buildings are still to be established. Thus adequate estimation and evaluation is requested, to intensify creation of low-carbon society, by promoting greening and effective placement of greenery in the built environment. To support local governments' effort for low-carbon city development, we are developing methods to estimate and evaluate greenhouse gas emission reduction effect by less use of cooling and heating by buildings by improvement of urban thermal environment generated by adequate placement of greenery in the built environment.

Sophistication of Urban Greenery Survey and Analysis Applying Airborne Laser Survey Technologies

 We are developing basic technologies, applying the latest developed airborne laser (LiDAR) survey methods, to investigate the urban greenery spatial structures, and by analyzing their current situation and trends, to find out spatial problems and take necessary measures.
