| Summary | Nitrous oxide (N2O) that has 310 times the greenhouse effect of carbon dioxide, is known to have been emitted from wastewater treatment processes. However, the emission occurrence at actual plants is not understood. We conducted a survey for the state of generation of nitrous oxide at actual plants among different treatment methods to develop new emission factors in Japan, and investigated the treatment methods reducing N2O emission. |
