Summary | With regard to multi-purpose dam operations during floods, delayed operations and excess impoundment over the normal water revel are occasionally reported scince there are no applicable rules when the reservoir water level is very low in a summer flood season. And when an extreme flood event beyond the scale assumed in the flood control plan occurs at a dam site retaining a flood control capacity, the discharge volume is increased significantly to balance the inflow is usually implemented. However, lowering the flood prevention effect of the dam and being not able necessarily to utilize the remaining capacity of the dam remain in the technique as a challenges to be solved. This study examined applicability to the real management of new technique to solve these problems. |
