Summary In the 4th Assessment Report published by IPCC Working Group 1, the increases of averaged temperature and amount of rainfall in the late of 21st century were projected in 2007. On the other hand, the hazardous area had been increasing due to land developments and the budget for constructing structural measures had been decreasing due to the bad economic condition in Japan. Therefore it is necessary to establish a method for estimating a risk reduction by taking measures such as check dams and early warning system in order to reduce the risks of sediment-related disasters efficiently. In the previous study, the computational method for estimating the risks caused by debris flow was proposed, but the method was not applied to the real case yet. In this study, the data for applying the method to real cases were collected and the rainfall and temperature in the late of 21st century in Japan were projected by using the research result of the IPCC.
