Summary	The most of coastal areas of Japan are confronting risks of severe damages caused by tsunamis and/or storm surges. It is necessary to establish and improve comprehensive countermeasures consisted of both structural and non-structural countermeasures. In this study we investigate how to evaluate the risks of each region using standardized method, what is the more efficient tool promoting risk communication, how to utilize predicted information of storm surges and wind waves, and other themes in order to reduce the damages.
