Summary | In this study, runoff simulations have been done using VSRF(Very Short-Range Forecasting made by Japan Meteorological Agency) to evaluate its efficiency on flood operations and relationships between prediction lead-time and error of precipitation or discharge have been summarized. The study shows that : 1) although accuracy of VSRF deteriorates with increasing lead-time, the error would not be increased significantly over certain lead-time; 2) prediction error of discharge sustains high correlation better than that of VSRF because of effect of runoff lag-time; 3) the rate of increase of discharge error with lead-time is smaller than that of VSRF. |
