NILIM Outline

The NILIM, Japan’s only research institute in the eld of public capital, conducts research to help the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to plan and propose its technology policies and increase the degree of satisfaction of the citizens, in order to achieve the NILIM’s goal of Creating “Beautiful, Safe and Vigorous National Land”.

The NILIM commands a birds-eye view of the national land as it works to conduct research that is its major responsibility and which can only be carried out by the national government.

The NILIM will, with its basic policy being to respond to administrative needs and resolve future challenges, continue to evolve as it conducts its research.

The NILIM selects and defines priority challenges that should be resolved quickly as technology policy challenges and concentrates its efforts on their resolution.

Reflecting Research Achievements in Policies

The NILIM conducts research cooperatively with the headquarters of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and reflects its findings in the planning and enactment of policies and execution of projects.
